Total Eclipse — Northern Spain
A total solar eclipse sweeps across northern Spain from Galicia to the Balearic Islands, with up to 2m 18s of totality at sunset.
The path of totality enters Spain from the Atlantic, making landfall near A Coruña in Galicia. It sweeps east-southeast across Asturias, Cantabria, and northern Castilla y León through León and Burgos. The shadow continues across Aragón via Zaragoza, then crosses Catalonia near Lleida before heading out over the Mediterranean to reach the Balearic Islands, with Palma de Mallorca near the center line. Maximum totality occurs over the Mediterranean near the Balearics.
